RECAP OF 2021 ON YAHWEH’S MOUTHPIECE

Yet another year is wrapping up. Truly, there are numerous reasons to be grateful for this year. 2020 was filled with troubles, anxieties, and uncertainties, but we thank God for this year. Despite the twists and turns of the year, the Lord has brought us to its ending. Hallelujah!

Not so much took place on this blog this year; nonetheless, a recap on what was shared here is necessary. The Word of God never loses its relevance.

The first post for the year was tagged: Preparation for the Journey (full post here). This certainly speaks to this time. How prepared are we for the new year? Or what preparations are we making for the new year? This is the time to gather victuals for the journey ahead. It is not enough to get the promises of God and pen them down. We need to have those promises furnished in our hearts, believe God to bring them to pass, and prepare ourselves to experience the reality of the promise made by God to us. Your preparation for what is ahead, even after receiving God’s promises and the vision for the new year, is one proof that you believe what God has said concerning the year. Israel didn’t prepare, and sooner than later, we saw the result that eventually led to many perishing in the wilderness.

Then we asked ourselves a pertinent question, Who leads you? (Read here). I could summarise this with Psalm 16:8 “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” The Lord before us in all our journeying guarantees a lot. It guarantees safety and security by His shielding. It saves us from unnecessary stress for when the Lord goes before us, He clears the way before us according to Isaiah 45:2. When the Lord leads, He shield: for the shield and the shield-bearer is always before the warrior. It is a great and grave error to attempt to move ahead of God. By doing so, we set ourselves up for troubles and afflictions which we wouldn’t have smelt not to talk of tasting of them. As you journey into the new year, let the LORD go before. Let Yahweh dictate the way you go and the path you tread. He leads us by the best route for us. It might not appear so, but the end will surely prove this to be true.

Next, we considered Saved, Safe and Secure (Read here). The Lord’s hand is not just mighty to save but also able to keep you safe. As long as we abide in God’s leading, we are sure to abide under His security. Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed at the last time. In God’s keeping is that He doesn’t lead us into temptation. For “God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which ye are able but will with the temptation make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it.” As the Lord leads the way, we are sure to dwell in safety though there be storms, threats, and tumults on the way. He declares the end of the journey from the beginning and notwithstanding the storms on the way, we are sure to arrive at the other side safely.

We also looked at the power in our words – life and death existing in the power of the tongue (Read here). God has given us the authority to declare our reality. He revealed this practically by requiring those who came to Him to state that which they wanted Him to do. To their requests, He placed a stamp of approval, “be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29). His words to His disciples were, “…if ye shall say…it shall be done…” (Matthew 21:21). In every situation we face on our journey, our response should be faith. We must desist from speaking a reality we will not want to find expression. Speak life, speak positively. The words we speak are borne out of the trust we have in God and His promises for us, such that even when what is visible is contrary to what He has said, the words we speak are in line with His promises and purposes.

The most recent post was an expansion of the former but in a different context. It was tagged Anything you say or do(Read here) We recognised the presence of an adversary who constantly seeks grounds on which to lay accusations against us. He tries to trap us by the content of our talk. This calls for caution. There is a great need for discernment and mastery of the weapon of silence, as these were the weapons of Jesus’ victory over the sons of Satan (as Jesus called them), the Pharisees. They constantly sought grounds upon which they could lay accusations against Jesus before the Governor by posing questions that were seemingly innocent but powered by grievous intentions. Jesus sent us as sheep among wolves, requiring that we be wise as serpents, but yet, harmless as doves.

I trust that you picked a thing or two from this recap. You could read up the full posts via the links for a full dose.

I pray that the Lord preserve us into the new year and journey with us all the way.

See you in 2022.
