“And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward” (Exodus 14:15)
By the appearance and advancement of Pharaoh and the Egyptians towards them, the people of Israel were in despair, the red sea also being before them. At this point, in their minds, they were stuck. And that was the thought that was in the heart of Pharaoh. “For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.” (Exodus 14:3). I should say that God doesn’t just know the thought that He thinks towards you, but also the thoughts of the adversary towards you and works towards bringing their thoughts to naught. God does all that He does for two reasons – His glory and our good. He led them by that way that He might take His honour on Pharaoh and for Israel’s good that they do not see war and return to Egypt.

God never delights in our stagnation, but our progression. When He requires that we wait, it is actually for revitalization, that we build momentum for motion and not that we remain at the same location.
In line with that vision that God gave, and it appears that ahead of you is a red sea, keep moving as long as you are in the way that God has led you by. It is God’s to do the parting, yours is to do the pressing. Keep pressing forward. Equally, the adversary’s advancement toward you should not halt your advancement towards your goal.
Remember that you can’t go back; it is not even one of the options. “Why stand we still till we die?” Stagnation brings about deterioration until there is total extinction. The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness until all that came out of Egypt perished in the wilderness, save Joshua and Caleb.
When the LORD grants an entrance for furtherance, the adversary seeks to bring hindrance to our entrance and our furtherance. Paul said, “A great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries” (1 Corinthians 16:9), yet he was never deterred from going ahead with the ministry and assignment of God. Despite all odds, we must make progression. As long as our Captain didn’t bid us stop, nothing should bring you to a stopping point.
Has God given you an assignment to be done? You cry and complain about the challenges and limitations. God wants you to make progression in line with the vision. He wants you to move and then you’ll see Him move. You carry Yahweh on your inside which means that as you move, He moves. That’s your proper definition of “We move”. When it looks like there is no way and that the gates are closed, you only need to go forward and you’ll see the sea part and the gates open. Don’t wait till you get the key in your hands before you proceed, approach the door with the One who dwells within you and you’ll see the gates open of their own accord.
“When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.” (Psalm 114:1 – 8).

The siren of the Lord blows all around clearing the way for your passing through for you are the servant and messenger of the Most High. You have His backing. Anything which cannot stand the Lord’s presence cannot stand your presence because you are a carrier of His presence. I challenge you to approach that mountain and challenge it, not with a bone face but with the Rod of God in your hand. It has no other choice than to flee before your face and give you entrance into the realm that the Lord has opened up for you.

Even when the road doesn’t seem clear, or you don’t even know the specific destination, move in faith, like Abraham. “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD…” (Hosea 6:3). Though the way you may not see, Christ is calling ‘follow me’. Proverbs 4:18 tells us that “the path of the just is as a shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Your path only gets brighter as you make progressions in faith on the journey.
Servant of God, GO FORWARD!
